About The Festival

A Festival For Everyone

On July 27, 2014, an enthusiastic audience will experience Cambridge’s first major free jazz festival and the start of a new Cambridge tradition.

Cultural events are critical to the life of our city because they bring people together. Jazz in particular transcends common social divisions. From Brattle Street to our Brazilian community, jazz inspires and connects us—no matter who you are, where you’re from or what you do.

Educational Value

Inspiring People Through The Arts

As our culture questions the value of music and art education in schools, and a citizenry's exposure to the arts is increasingly limited to television, festivals like this one take on greater importance.

We have a responsibility to provide high-quality live performances for our city. Seeing great musicians perform in person can inspire and delight. At this Festival, sparking and deepening appreciation and interest in the arts is an important goal.

Good Business!

Working Closely With Cambridge Businesses

The Festival is an opportunity to promote local business and sponsors.

Our unique button program will drive traffic to 25–50 locations in the months prior to the Festival. On the day of the Festival, local businesses will also enjoy increased foot traffic. And we’ll also be offering affordable concessions and food vendor opportunities.
